    A Pioneer in avant-garde music, film and numerous other media, Tony Conrad, who passed away earlier this year, indelibly altered the course of contemporary art and thought.  For this tribute, Filmforum will screen some film and video works (including "The Flicker") and host several speakers.

    Jesse Lerner’s Ruins mixes real and fabricated archival footage to document the restoration of artifacts and monuments from Mexico’s precolonial era. After the screening, Jesse Lerner and Gala Porras-Kim will discuss how the value of particular objects shapes the interpretation of culture.
