    Adrift is a residency program curated by Bahía Colectiva in collaboration with Los Angeles Filmforum where filmmakers connect with audiences and other practitioners by sharing a virtual archive of the process materials behind their film and video works. We are excited to announce Alejandro Alonso Estrella as our artist in residence this week. His work meditates on the ideological constructs of nationhood, homeland and access. Through experimentation with form and visual language he trifles with territorial limitations to reflect on alternative Cuban futures and reimagine the past.

We are excited to announce Mila Turajlić as our artist in residence this week. In her work with archives, Mila researches the intersection of personal and national memories, always seeking to reactivate forgotten histories, through forms ranging from lecture performances and video art to analytical essays.

    Adrift is a residency program curated by Bahía Colectiva in collaboration with Los Angeles Filmforum where filmmakers connect with audiences and other practitioners by sharing a virtual archive of the process materials behind their film and video works. We are excited to announce Sasha Litvintseva and Beny Wagner as our artists in residence this week. Working collaboratively since 2017, their films, texts and lectures focus on the moving image as a tool for the active production of new worlds. Their practice has been driven by questions about the thresholds between the body and its surroundings, knowledge regimes and power, modes of organizing and perceiving the natural world.

    “Picture More: Interventions into Filmic Space,” programmed by guest curator Dana Berman Duff  presents film works that suggest dissatisfaction with the inadequacy of the photographic medium, which resort to interventions into the image to show a more authentic representation of experience.
