Austrian-born and German-based filmmaker Baerbel Neubauer has made more than 35 experimental films, animation films and short subjects since 1980. In 1991 she started to make music for her films.  She has been working in various formats such as 35mm cinema films, QuickTime movies for the internet, 70mm IMAX film, and life action/performance.

During the 90s she worked on abstract motion paintings on 35mm film stock directly, from 2000 on she developed her language in motion painting with digital tools and brushes in image and sound.  At present she works on a new film “Morphs of Pegasus”and on a performance.  Neubauer also teaches workshops on experimental animation and serves as a jury member at festivals.
